Hello Sweet Ones,
I hope that you are enjoying these luxuriously long days as we approach the summer solstice. . . It’s been beautiful to watch Austin receive many inches of rain and soft sunshine. . . what a slow build to a Texas Summer. . . Grateful to witness.

It’s sort of surreal. I’ve been making music professionally for close to 20 years. A few months ago I was asked to write a custom song for a Coca-Cola Commercial. I had about 2 hours to compose and record something brilliant before the deadline. I sat down with my uke at my manager’s house in California, watched the top-secret video and tried to create a narrative song that was digestible in both 30 and 60 seconds… I came up with a first draft of what ended up becoming this tune. . . A couple of days ago, i started getting reports from friends and fans that the advertisement was playing at the cinema and on their favorite TV channels. Whoa. Then today this really complimentary article came out in Ad Weekly. . . I’m both honored and sort of blown away that a little ditty could catch fire like this. . .

I’ve also heard reports that Starbucks Coffee has begun spinning “The Water’s Fine” in stores nationwide. Shucks.

NPR‘s beloved roots show, Beale Street Caravan will be playing the show we recorded with them this week on radio stations across the country!  Check their site to see if/when it’s playing on a station near you!

Final TX dates before New Mexico, Colorado & Wyoming Tour-Dates
In less than two weeks, I will leave TX for the mountains for several months. If you have plans to be in Jackson Hole, WY this summer, come visit me! I’ll be playing a few shows a week out there! If you’re in TX, there are 2 very special final shows in Houston & Austin before I leave town and I hope to see you if you’re in either of these Metro areas.
This Saturday in Houston, the fabulous Ginger Leigh and I will be double-heading one of TX’s finest listening rooms, The Anderson Fair.  Tickets are limited. Order online here. This week we recorded a couple of duet tracks together that we will be performing live at the show Sat! Join us for whimsy, passion & musician harmonic magic! Yay!
Next Saturday in Austin at 3pm at Strange Brew Lounge-side, I’ve decided to invite a lot of my pals from the music community to join in a special collaborative shin-dig, musical send-off before my tour. Guest appearances from Suzanna ChoffelNoelle HamptonGinger LeighMark AddisonBarbara Nezbitt and several more and Ryan Holley and I have decided to cover a couple of songs by Endochine . . . an awesome Austin band that dismantled over a decade ago. . . There are guaranteed laughs, sweet covers killer harmonies and a LOT of hugging. Hope you can join the fun!
You know, friends, I have taken great leaps of faith in this last year. It’s been exhausting, exhilarating and frightening at times . . . Sometimes all 3 at once. . . However by grace, love, hard work and constant surrender, I’m so grateful for all I’ve learned and been able to share along the way. . . I’m an independent artist, the chief cook and dishwasher of this business and I have a wonderful team of colleagues who have supported me this year.  I am humbled and grateful to see that this investment of time and love has been well received. Thank you all for your faith and support. I can’t tell you how much your connection has help me move through doubt and fear in the constant direction of love and kindness. Thank You.
